Hard disk circuit board is necessary for each hard disk. No power, No spin, No sound, burning smell or obvious bad interface are circuit board failures. To repair the circuit board, first we should buy the same type of circuit board, circuit board models must be the same, the circuit board model(Board Number or Main Controller IC) is printed on the circuit board. You may need special screwdriver to unscrew them from the board.

Each brand HDD (Seagate, Western Digital, Samsung, Fujitsu, Maxtor, Hitachi, Toshiba) has a lot of hard drive models, different models of hard disk may be used with the same circuit board. To replace WD pcb circuit boards, please make sure your board's Board Number is 2060-771962-002. Your original hard disk circuit board number should be exactly the same as ours.

Swapping the hard drive circuit boards, you should know:

  • For Seagate, Western Digital, Samsung, Toshiba & Fujitsu hard drives, the Board Number must be the same.
  • For Hitachi 3.5" & Maxtor hard drives, the Main Controller Chip number must be the same.
  • For Hitachi 2.5" hard drives, the White Label number must be the same.
  • PCB version: REV A, REV B, REV C, REV D, REV E, REV P1, REV P2 can be used as the same.
